Back to the Blogstone

Okay, let's see if we can get back to a routine. Here's a guest report from Adam, to start off a new series of Teen Team Trials and Tribulations - who's next? Oliver? Chris? Richard? No hiding - who's going to write up for this weekend??

Adam says...

Back to Bridgnorth after the winter Santa running - back to our station. Well, as soon as we're ready for work, it's painting benches and chipping railings for painting. It can be very enjoyable after a week of GCSE study to have a day of dirty physical progressive restoration work. No uniform involved, just overalls, hat and whatever tools needed; bliss!

Anyway, 24 January - starting at 10 o'clock, bench frame priming, two paint tins for the job - it tends to be much more flexible with a separate paint supply each. Got the job finished by lunch in less than ideal weather.

As always lunch break goes by like a gust of wind unless one is having a full meal - you end up devouring lunch in minutes and then trying to weigh out time with a cup of tea. Oh well, if time went past, proves we were amused.

Afternoon, chipping railings and chopping dry kindling for lighting up stoves. Wonder if one could make a part time job of a kindling supplier? I'd probably soon get bored. Railings went slowly because as soon as we continue after de-numbing hands over a fire, they chill again! But we got something done.

End of the day: empty grates, have a pint in the bar!

Thank you Adam (and there's a 'b' in 'numbing') - perhaps slightly easier to read writing next time?

Have a good day tomorrow, y'all.
