The station approach

"New fencing and gateway on the main road frontage, a new pedestrian pathway to remove conflicts with traffic, and improved signage and interpretation boards. A first phase of works by volunteers will commence in spring 2012."

Measurements have been taken and material quantities are being calculated.

Spring is on its way, and with it a new major project for our Wailing Wall Construction Company volunteers - the building of a smart, in-keeping main entrance to our station site.

It will include wooden fencing on a brick dwarf wall, in appropriate GWR style, with substantial pillars flanking the gateways. It will clearly delineate our boundary, and will obviously state 'heritage railway' in its design and appearance.

Bricklaying, metalworking, woodworking, painting, labouring and tea-making skills will all be welcome - if you feel able to offer some time, and whether you are skilled or willing to learn, you will be made very welcome to help us achieve this long-sought project.

Contact us at hello@bridgnorthstation.co.uk or call in any Saturday to our station workshop at the top of the driveway.
