Wailing Wall Sept - Sat 10

Today, Colin and I were joined by Dave (Beer Tokens) and Chalkie (The Fat Controller).
First thing, I arranged for Frank (The Singer) to bring the JCB round to collect eight pallets and seven large cable drums, that had kindly been donated by the electrical wholesaler at the bottom of the drive. That should keep those loco boys happy for a few more days.
Dave was busy de-nailing more pallet wood for use on the remaining waste bin surrounds.
Colin spent a good part of the morning preparing to cast some more heritage coving in plaster of Paris.
Chalkie has started to re-arrange the shelving in our workshop to accommodate a steel filing cabinet kindly donated by Phil (The Driver).
Whilst all this was going on, I donned my other hat and very orange hi-viz jacket, to conduct the latest group of 14 volunteers around the loco department. Apparently, most found this very informative and interesting, which is just as well, really...
After lunch, the plaster work continued. At close of play, two more 8ft sections had been completed.
Chalkie's re-arranging was still happening.
Finally, to round off the day, the FINAL coat of black gloss was applied to the back of the new Tickets & Trains sign. If Brian (The Gnome) remembers his computer drawings on Tuesday, we can affix the resin letters, and finally get it fixed in position prior to the gala weekend. Now wouldn't that be nice to see, to see it nice, as a certain Knight of the realm puts it.
