Severn Valley Limited to Lincoln

This a jointly organised tour between the Severn Valley Railway Association and the Railway Touring Company who are handling all bookings.

A4 Pacific 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' will haul the train from Bridgnorth to Lincoln and after our visit to Lincoln, will haul the train from Lincoln to Doncaster.

We commence our journey at Bridgnorth hauled by 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley'. We pick up at Bewdley, Kidderminster and Stourbridge Junction.

Soon after, Sir Nigel will commence the difficult climb up Old Hill Bank. We call at Tame Bridge Parkway before heading through Walsall and the normally freight only line through Sutton Park. We hope for a fast run through Tamworth and Burton on Trent before entering the City of Nottingham. We continue through Newark to our destination of Lincoln.

Lincoln is a wonderful City to explore. You will have time to visit its imposing 12th century Cathedral as well as its Norman Castle. Lincoln has its fair share of cobbled streets and interesting individual shops.

After our break of approximately 3 hours, Sir Nigel will head our train northwards over the little used GN and GE joint line through Gainsborough to Doncaster. Here we say goodbye to our A4 Pacific.

We return to the West Midlands diesel hauled setting down at Birmingham New Street, Stourbridge Junction and Kidderminster. There will be a special service on the Severn Valley Railway from Kidderminster to return passengers to Bewdley and Bridgnorth.
